Caring Homes Initiative

The Caring Homes Initiative supports small, minority-owned home-based childcare businesses by building capacity, creating bridges between young families and childcare resources, and fostering more resilient and successful El Paso families. Business owners enrolled in the program work to obtain the proper licensing and certifications needed to succeed, create goals, and develop their financial and digital literacy skills. Valuable benchmarks and progress reports help ensure business owners find success through the program

Community Resiliency Center

The United Way of El Paso in collaboration with the City of El Paso has established and activated the Community Resiliency Center (CRC) in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The CRC aims to meet the needs of community members by enhancing awareness and providing information and navigation services to community resources that support long term stability.
Education
Parents as Teachers
​
The United Way Parents as Teachers program is a free, evidence-based program available to all, that supports parents and caregivers of children between the ages of 0 and 5 in becoming their child’s first and best teacher. Parent Educators conduct home visits focused on providing parents with guidance about child development through educational and fun activities.
The program focuses on ensuring children meet important developmental milestones to improve school readiness. Participants also gain access to a supportive network, unique events, resources and more. The PAT program is a part of the HOPES collaborative led by El Paso Center for Children and partly funded through the OneStar Foundation as an AmeriCorps program. It is the only AmeriCorps Parents as Teachers program in the nation

Family Resiliency Center - El Paso United

Family Resiliency Center (FRC) is a place of healing and support dedicated to serving as a resource to those directly & indirectly impacted by the tragedy of August 3, 2019. The main focus of the FRC is to disseminate information and assist community members in navigating the variety of services available in response to August 3rd.

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation, in conjunction with the United Way of El Paso County, is ensuring the success of nonprofit organizations that serve our communities. Through BoardSource certified workshops, training and summits, the REALIZE Board Training is assuring all nonprofit board of directors are fully prepared to undertake their critical responsibilities.

VolunteerElPaso is an online database that connects El Pasoans looking to volunteer with opportunities and needs throughout the community. In recent years, the database has helped build the capacity of local food banks, organizations, and shelters to support them with COVID-19 efforts, migrant services, and other critical response efforts. VolunteerElPaso.org serves as the bridge between individuals looking to contribute to the community and organizations in need of volunteer support.
